From left to right: Sierra (and Brew), Rachel, Dr. Holena (and Latte), Melissa, Ana, Katie
Melissa is one of our hygienists. She is from Wilkes-Barre and graduated from GAR High School. She earned her dental hygiene degree from Luzerne County Community College (LCCC).
She shows a real passion for working with both special needs patients and children. Melissa’s inspiration for doing what she does is her niece, Leah (in the picture with Melissa). Leah has Down Syndrome. Outside of work, Melissa loves spending time with family, friends, and her 2 dogs, Oliver and Archie.
Rachel is another one of our hygienists. She graduated from high school in New York. She earned her dental hygiene degree from Luzerne County Community College (LCCC). She also completed the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant program at LCCC.
Rachel loves working with our most difficult patients. She has a family member with autism, which helped fuel her desire to work with special needs. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and pets, Falcor and Tiny Tim.
Katie is one of our Expanded Functions Dental Assistants (EFDAs). She graduated from Luzerne County Community College (LCCC) in 2013 with a specialization in dental assisting. She returned to LCCC and became a licensed EFDA in 2018.
In addition to working as an EFDA here, she also teaches in the Dental Assistant program at Fortis Institute.
She loves spending time at home with her fiancé, Adam, and of course her cat, Nellie. She enjoys cooking and experimenting with new gluten free recipes.
Ana is our receptionist.
She graduated from GAR High School. She then got her Associates Degree in Medical Assisting from McCann.
Ana started working in the dental field in 2013. She loves the personal interactions she has with patients and caregivers. Ana is bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish.
When not working here, Ana loves spending time with family and her pets. Her pets include Luna, Pablo, and goats in Mexico! She also makes custom cakes, breakable hearts, and balloon arches.
Sierra is our dental assistant. She graduated from Lake Lehman High School.
She started working with Dr. Holena in July 2020. At that time, she was studying dental hygiene at Luzerne County Community College. After working as an assistant, she decided she would prefer going to school for Expanded Functions Dental Assisting. As soon as she has enough experience, she will be applying to programs.
In her free time, Sierra loves to spend time with her family, travel, and go hiking.
